progressive workshops that allow participants to develop their skills over
time. The team is experienced and understands each participant’s needs.
They

life. They also provide assistance with navigating the ndis
sunshine coast.
Short
Term Accommodation
Short term
accommodation (STA) is an NDIS support service that provides temporary
accommodation and negotiated activities for up to 14 days. It is a great option
for NDIS participants who need respite care. It gives their usual carers a
chance to take a break, do some work, or even go on holiday.
Our Sunshine
Coast NDIS team has years of experience and is committed to providing
high-quality disability services. Our support workers are passionate about
collaborating with you to achieve your goals and increase your independence.
We offer a
range of flexible disability services, including one-on-one and group support,
behaviour management planning and autism specialist support. Our specialised
supports ensure you get the best possible outcomes from your NDIS package.
Supported
Independent Living
SIL or
Supported Independent Living is an NDIS scheme which provides participants with
the means to build independence in a home that’s truly their own. Often this
will involve shared accommodation with other NDIS participants, which can
foster peer support and community interaction.
It can also
be offered in individual homes, depending on your specific circumstances.
Support services may include assistance or supervision with daily tasks like
cooking, personal care and developing life skills.
Our SIL
service is person centred and designed for you, by you. This enables you to
develop your own goals and aspirations while building independence through
capacity-building tasks. If you’re looking to add SIL to your NDIS plan, chat
with your Local Area Coordinator or Support Coordinator and get the ball
rolling. They’ll be able to help you with reports and navigating the process.
This will ensure you’re getting the right support at the best price. They can
also help you with finding the right accommodation solution.
Group
Homes
Group homes
are a type of NDIS accommodation that is suitable for people with a range of
different disabilities. They are designed to provide individualised support and
a home-based lifestyle, with residents being encouraged to develop their
independence and self-care abilities.
NDIS
participants living in a group home will receive assistance with activities of
daily living based on their individual needs and goals, which are set out in
their NDIS plan. This could include help with personal care, meal preparation
and other housekeeping tasks.
Specialist
disability accommodation (SDA) provides an accessible housing solution for
participants with high levels of functional impairment and a complex support
need. It includes shared supported accommodation and community residential
units, as well as self-contained homes that are fitted with specialised
equipment.
Short Term
Accommodation (STA) is a type of accommodation and support for NDIS
participants that allows them to try out new experiences or stay somewhere
different from their usual home while their normal carer takes a break. STA is
funded through the Core component of a participant’s NDIS plan.
Specialist
Disability Accommodation
Specialist
disability accommodation is a type of housing designed for people with
significant and long-term disabilities. It is intended to promote independence,
safety and inclusion. The National Disability Insurance Scheme offers funding
for specialist accommodation through their SDA arrangement.
SDA is
different from other NDIS supports in that it funds the bricks and mortar
capital of the dwelling. This means that SDA is a standalone support for the
NDIS participant and not an add-on to other services in their home.
SDA can be
used for all types of residential homes including apartments, townhouses and
houses. The SDA Vacancy Finder is an online system that allows you to search
for available SDA buildings by location, SDA design category and price range.
SDA is only provided for NDIS participants who have been approved for the
service in their plan. The SDA arrangement is funded separately from Supported
Independent Living in the NDIS participant’s budget allocation. It is also
subject to a separate set of rules governing the pricing arrangements and
limits.
